Low-life Harry falls in love with sweet Betty who inspires him to improve himself so he can marry her. He enters a $25,000 cross-country hiking contest. After many adventures he wins, pays off his father Amos's mortgage and marries Betty. Written by Ed Stephan <stephan@cc.wwu.edu>





Harry Logan is mistakenly entered into a Cross-Country walking contest but because the girl he loves, Betty Burton, wants him to try, he does and sets out across ! the continent. He takes an early lead because he is on the wrong road. An encounter with a herd of sheep,and a fall from a precipice hanging onto a fence gets him back on the right road and leading the pack. Hungry, he takes some fruit, is arrested for stealing and put on the county chain gang. He escape, but is far behind until a tornado blows him across the finish line ahead of the other contestants.
